Another extremely busy week this week lads with a lot happening within the group.
With our continuously growing reservist pool we seem to be having a lot of reservists not attending or not reacting to the Op-attendance. Reservists are to remember that they have agreed to a min 2 weeks per month attendance. There are no rules saying you can’t attend all the Op’s either, as we will always be able to put you somewhere. Staff understand that being in a reservist slot is not always what members want. But hopefully this weekly update will explain some things that are happening in the group which may enlighten as to why you’re not going into permeant roles sooner.
We encourage all new and veteran reservists to jump into the discord and get involved in other games that the group play, and also into the liberation server that is up a lot of the time. Just make sure you read the Liberation server rules which can be found pinned in the Liberation channel in discord.
Group Growth and Development
So as many of you know our long-term target is to grow to 2 Platoons/Company size. I just want to give you all some inside information as to PHQ’s plans and ideas so you are not left in the dark. Although we could do it, I personally feel that we aren’t ready for opening 2 PL. This is due to a few reasons.
– Even though we have a large number of reservists, we still have an issue with attendance. Staff are working on ways that we can improve this and is one of our priorities at the moment.
– Until recently, PHQ and staff did not have a plan for the implementation of 2PL. This involves a lot of work including; training up members for staff positions, creating the documents and trainings for those promotions, mission making and Zeus’s, staffing of other roles like J1 or J3, and much more. PHQ and staff are currently working on this and have already got some plans made.
– The introduction of Hotel 1-1 has taken a lot of staff’s time and focus the last couple of weeks so things were being put on the back burner. This now being complete, we can focus on these “downfalls” so we can look at the future.
In summary, I believe that the internal structure is just not ready for the massive leap that is 2 PL. It may look simple from the outside, but trust me when I say it could possibly make or break the group. I just want to ensure that we have all our current major issues on track or solved and that we have a suitable infrastructure when we make the leap to 2 PL. Don’t worry, it’s coming.
There are a few members I’d like to thank for last week as their efforts and dedication have assisted myself and the group immensely.
LCPL Tate, LCPL Konk and LCPL Roofie – You three have exceeded my expectations and standards in your efforts with the new recruits. LCPL Konk and LCPL Roofie being new members into J3, you both have completed several trainings each and both to a standard that I would not expect on a trainers first couple times. You both should be proud of your efforts and I look forward to seeing you guys progress in the future. LCPL Tate has again stepped up in many ways this week. Running his first PTE(P) session alone and completing it to an excellent standard. LCPL Tate also assisted several times during the J3 trainings, helping the new trainers and assisting the new recruits with their mods and server issues. LCPL Tate continues to exceed the standard I expect and is a staff member I hold in high regards.
PTE Huntah – You were praised for your performance during the op last night with comments relating to when instructed by your section commander, how quickly and efficiently you assisted Starlight who was working on a patient. Being your first Op with us, this is great to see. Keep up the work mate.
PTE Tayzard and PTE Jazz – You were both mentioned by staff for your performance during the op. You both adjusted into Charlie section well, followed orders and were flexible. This is what a section commander wants from the reservists attached to his section, so great job!
PTE(P) Taticool Koala and PTE(P) Englishman – You lads adjusted well into Delta section last night and at a particular time were alone or without leadership due to causalities. Your performance for the night was to a good standard and when required, you rallied with your section quickly and effectively once reinforced.
Hotel 1-1 Assessment
As announced at debrief last night, the documents and mission file for the assessments have been completed and tested. This week we will begin assessments with hopes of implementing Hotel 1-1 either this week or next week. In saying that, this will not be rushed as it may take some time to complete everyone’s assessment.
Details of the assessments will be posted in the noticeboard shortly. The cut off for applications will be Wednesday 26th June at 1700 AEST. To apply, simply react to the assessment details post in the noticeboard channel. Assessments are planned to begin on Thursday 27th.
We will be looking at bringing back the mid-week ops/missions so that the group has more events that they can socialise at and give you guys something to look forward to mid-week. These events can be a multitude of things including; PvP events, a separate campaign, Liberation, different era ops or missions, side missions to our current campaign and just random missions made by either our Zeus team or even you guys.
We can look at all these options and with such a variety we should be able to get some awesome events going which members can look forward to and enjoy. Obviously, some options will require mod downloads but you will be given as much warning as possible. I personally am looking forward to getting online with you guys and doing something new. Watch this space.
As mentioned last night it is encouraged that if you have a mission or campaign idea, please post it in the mission suggestions channel. This channel will now be heavy policed as I only want the suggestions in there. This is because the suggestions get lost in all the banter otherwise. If you have a suggestion, write it out, post it and then discuss it in the new mission discussion channel just below it. This way the Zeus team can clearly see the suggestions, scroll through and mark them down. We will see how this system works, otherwise I will look at another way. Please respect the new rules.
I look forward to both the near and far future lads and appreciate everyone’s hard work this week. It’s been challenging but made possible by you guys.
Maintain the rage!
